Tuesday, 8 December 2009 - Lamb’s Farm President Dee Cavenaugh called the meeting to order at noon and led us in the Pledge. There were 34 members present. The minutes of the November 10 meeting were approved as printed. Treasurer Ray Reidel presented his report, which showed the following balances: Operations Fund - $2,337.78 Life Fund - $41,804. Legislative - $1,421.24 Foundation - $100.94 Killian Scholarship - $1213.13 LCRTA Scholarship Fund - $5,400.20 The report was filed for audit. After lunch, Marti Swanson clarified the difference between 2-tiered pension systems and defined benefits as opposed to defined contribution pension plans. She also gave highlights from Bob Lyons’ December TRS report. Former IRTA President Irene Jinks installed the 2010 LCRTA officers; President - Jim Benton Vice-President - John Anderson Associate Vice-President/Program - Angie Lulek Secretary - Mary Kober We sang Happy Birthday to Jeanne Houle. Angie Lulek announced that the January program would be Betsy Means as Julia Kinzie, the wife of a northwest fur trader, and the February program would be on the underground railroad. Program chair John Anderson introduced the program, Music of the Holidays by Jim and Betty Benton. Connie Reidel conducted the scholarship drawing. John Anderson was the winner of $23. There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 1:25.
