The LCRTA hosts a monthly luncheon at 11:45 on the second Tuesday of each month. The luncheon is held at Lamb’s Farm on Route 176 in Libertyville. In addition to good food and good friends, each meeting includes a very short business meeting to update the members on issues affecting their pensions and insurance. Each meeting features a guest speaker. Sometimes entertaining, sometimes educational, always interesting.

Abraham Lincoln:
Rail Splitter to President
A Photographic Biography
On October 12, 2010, our guest speaker will be Dave Wiegers. Dave has traveled across our great nation photographing statues of Abraham Lincoln. Along the way, he has gathered a great deal of insight into our sixteenth President, as well as many interesting anecdotes.
Although President Lincoln is credited with a quick whit and good sense of humor, few, if any, of his statutes depict him smiling. Perhaps Dave Wiegers will have some insight into this puzzle.
Our senatorial candidates to represent Lake County in the Illinois senate have been invited to join us for our September 14 luncheon. Considering the political climate in Illinois and across the nation, this should be very interesting. As of this time, we have confirmations from two of the candidates; Susan Garrett and Suzi Schmidt. We will post updates as information becomes available.
If time permits, we have a second program planned. Greg DiVito, who represents AMBA (Associated Members Benefits Advisors) will talk about membership benefits.
